Straighten Your Teeth Without Traditional Braces

A Straighter Smile

Orthodontic Treatment That Fits Your Life

Have you ever looked at a picture of yourself and wished your teeth were a little straighter? Maybe there's a gap you've never really liked, or a couple of teeth that have shifted over the years. You wouldn't mind fixing them, but wearing metal braces at this point in your life? Probably not what you had in mind.

You might be surprised at what can be done with clear aligners. Here at Burton Dentistry, we offer Invisalign and clear aligner treatment, which gives many of our patients a way to straighten their teeth without traditional braces.

How Do Clear Aligners Work?

Instead of brackets and wires, you'll wear a series of clear plastic trays made to fit your teeth. Each new set is slightly different from the one before it, gradually guiding your teeth where they need to go.

One thing patients tend to like is being able to remove them. Going out for dinner? Take them out. Need to brush and floss? Same thing. You can eat what you normally eat without worrying about damaging brackets or getting food caught in wires.

You'll still need to wear them for around 20 to 22 hours each day, though. Taking them out is easy. Remembering to put them back in after lunch might take a little getting used to!

Beyond a Straight Smile

There's also a practical reason to consider straightening crowded teeth. When teeth overlap or sit too close together, certain spots can be difficult to reach with a toothbrush or floss. Getting those teeth into better positions can sometimes make keeping them clean a little easier.

And then there's how you feel about your smile. Some people have one crooked tooth they've wanted to fix for years. Others have more crowding or spaces between their teeth. What bothers one person might not bother someone else at all.

Let’s Take a Look

Clear aligners work well for many people, but they aren't the answer for every situation. How long treatment takes depends on your teeth, your bite, and what needs correcting.

If you've been curious about Invisalign, bring it up at your next visit! We can take a look, answer your questions, and talk about whether clear aligners would be a good option for you.
